Wow! the Harry Potter star has come of age – and in serious style. Even Anna Wintour is a fan.
From the moment she strode into London’s Heathrow airport, fresh off her first-class flight from New York, flanked by two protective air hostesses, it was clear Emma Watson meant business.
And as she jetted back to her student digs at Brown University 48 hours later, she had done all she set out to achieve – crowned the undisputed darling of London Fashion Week and a bona fide grown up style icon.
Anna Wintour may have given Alexa Chung and Pixie Geldof a blast of glacial indifference as they sat next to her front row, but she couldn’t resist crossing the floor of the Burberry Prorsum S/S 10 show to have a girlie chat with Emma.

Clad in a gold metallic Burberry dress and teetering Burberry heels, the 19-year-old outshone an A-list front row which included Posh, Gwyneth, Liv Tyler, Freida Pinto, Mary-Kate and Aggy.
A clearly charmed Mario Testino (who shot her for the latest Burberry campaign) summed it up by telling her: “You’re such a grown-up girl now darling.”
So what happened to turn the Harry Potter geek into the queen of chic? Having a $19 million fortune obviously helps, but recent months have also seen the transformation of Emma into a genuine style idol.
Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s creative director, says: “She was the obvious choice for our campaign…She has a classic beauty, a great character and a modern edge. She is one of the great new British icons.”
But Emma is far from just being a clothes horse for the British company. Until recently, she only used the services of a stylist when walking the red carpet or for other special events, but she’s been increasingly relying on the savvy eye of Caroline Sieber.
Caroline is not well known outside the industry but is considered by insiders to be among the world’s best dressed women.
An Austrian socialite who came to London to work as an accountant, she then decided to become a stylist and is now a brand ambassador for Chanel. According to those close to her, Caroline never wears the same outfit twice (thanks to a European aristocrat banker boyfriend) and, despite her willowy frame, has a penchant for Krispy Kreme donuts (from Harrods food hall, naturally).
